Did I Break My Watch in the Bathtub?

I left my watch in my back pocket when I hung my jeans over the curtain rod, dropping my poor watch onto the bathtub, which had no water in it. It must have dropped about 6 feet. I was sad. I thought for sure that I broke it, but when I picked it up and inspected it, it seemed fine. I am wondering, how hard are typical bathtubs and is my bathtub not as hard as I think which is why my watch didn’t explode? Also, is this small dent on the edge fixable and do you think I may have broke something inside the watch that I am unaware of yet? It’s a self winding watch.

Your watch is probably just fine. If it’s working now there was probably no harm done to it by the fall. Now as to the dent, do you mean on the edge of the watch or edge of the tub? Either way it is probably not worth trying to fix.

Most watches are shockproof so you may be lucky, if you have a plastic bath and the watch strap hit first all should be ok. Time will tell (sorry about the pun)
