SEIKO Watches, Grand Hi-Beat (NEW) (BaselWorld 2010)
This beautiful Seiko watch was shown at BaselWorld 2010, in Basel Switzerland. This model marks the 50th year of the Seiko Grand. The movement is powered by Seiko’s Spring Drive mechanism. This is similar to a traditional movement, but there is no escapement, instead moved by electro-magnetic energy. The Grand Seiko story started over 50 years ago with a simple idea, to create the ideal watch. For 50 years, watch lovers in Japan have been able to enjoy the experience of owning their ideal Grand Seiko watch. The watch’s highlight is the HI-BEAT movement that features the 36000 Beats Per Hour (BPH) 9S85 caliber. This gives it nearly unmatched time accuracy for a mechanical model. This one has a simple understated elegance that really looks great.
