‘Side Winder’ Performed by a Korean Crossover Jazz Band

The genuine Korean crossover jazz band plays hard bop jazz trumpeter Lee Moregan’s work giving it a different musical light and stage featuring as well

Loose when loose is right, tight when you should be tight… great time shifting, I love the whole thing!! The dancers really make it fun too.

Lee Morgan’s The Sidewinder is my favorite tune of all time. I love hearing different covers. This was a fun one!

That’s right! It was really fun to arrange that way. We’ve more things to check out. Thanks for nice comment.

I liked your creative attempt at rearranging Morgan’s SideWinder. Instrumental solos could have been a little more creative, but overall, good job.

awesome video! I loved the whole thing. I started up a jazz band and we’re gonna take this chart out next week. The zheng solo was awesome too! I liked the non-traditional instruments and everything… very very cool cover.

Thanks a million for the nice words.
By the way what do you mean by’take this chart out’? And I don’t know what the zheng is? Best wishes for your band too.

By “take this chart out”, I mean practice the song next time the band meets. I thought the table-top stringed instrument was called a “zheng” (played in a solo at 5:00), but I’m probably wrong. I saw a girl play a similar instrument a few weeks ago but it could’ve been something else. I’ll send you a message when my band puts up some stuff, it’s gonna be great!

There are not any musical instrument bounderies with Jazz. This is a very good cover.

this is the most boring 12bar blues i’ve ever heard. what a waste of great instrumentation.

excellent take on this tune.I do it with my jazz group, & we have a lot of fun with it. Once you get into it, it’s hard to stop the solos.

i don’t think you know what you’re talking about.
it is clearly I7-IV7-V7-I7 and stop time on V7. very very traditional blues

yes sidewinder is a jazz standard tune. the form is 12 bar blues in style of pseudo bossa, which is the original. each section is doubled so technically it’s 24bar but same shit. i said it’s boring cos it’s same as the original there are no arrangements. only different exotic super hot instrumentation.

Been playin this tune for going on twenty years now. This proves that all borders are obsolete. You people are beautiful for taking on the idea of Jazz.. Stonejazz, you are nothing short of great. Music is universal, and it took the internet to break the stupid barriers that kept people out of the loop. Man, you guys are FRIGGIN WAY COOL…..Love the gal on the lap guitar,,,she gets it.
